What Are Forehead Lines?

Forehead lines are horizontal furrows across the forehead, caused by loss of tone by the frontalis muscle. When the eyebrows are raised, this muscle contracts to cause lines above the brows. As the human body ages, the skin loses its elasticity and muscles become weaker. The basic cause of forehead lines is the breakdown of collagen and elastin due to Genetic, Hormonal or Environmental Aging. The forehead is particularly susceptible to wrinkles as a result of sun damage from daily exposure to UV rays.
